I love reading about how God has brought you to where you are now- most people wouldn’t have gone on the mission trip after all that you went through-but you trusted God- see what he gave you?❤️
Thanks Jodi! I was so thankful to have had the opportunity to go to Africa. It was such a beautiful place. I think each mission is so special in how God moves. As a funny aside, I always remember being so sad when we were leaving William’s place in Panama… and how I was wiping tears from my eyes when I heard someone say “‘make sure NOT to touch your eyes…. a lot of the kids had pinkeye.” Whoops…too late 😂 I love that God will strengthen us and do more than we would ever have expected! ❤️ you!
Wow…I can so relate to your testimony and the realization that we are the impoverished ones. The joy they displayed got to me as well. It was life altering! You truly left there longing for what they had. And in that you find yourself drawing into a closer relationship with your Heavenly Father!
We love you Silvia and are so blessed that God has placed you into our lives!
Yes! I agree Mona! It is so life altering 😀. I always remember when Ron was sitting down with his eyes closed taking it all in at Okoa and suddenly there was a room full of kids that were praying over him because they thought he wasn’t feeling well! It was so amazing. You walk away with a different perspective and a greater degree of gratitude for all we are given.
Yes! It’s always amazing how going on short term mission really changes our perspective and reminds us to have gratitude for all the things we may take for granted!

Your trip to Africa reminds me of my mission trip to Mexico. We will have to share more stories together some time. So many wonderful God stories!!
